It is by far the point of best accessibility to any of the three main urban centers in the entire Alentejo region, by public transport, as it is only 25 minutes from Évora, 50 minutes from Lisbon and about 1 hour from Beja.

Vendas Novas does not have any medium or large-sized shopping centers, and its vast commerce is spread throughout the city's various streets. It is also possible to find several supermarket chains in Vendas Novas, such as Lidl, Pingo Doce and Continente Bom Dia.
